Who We Are…

The First Light Foundation of Hope was incorporated in 2018 as a faith-based registered charity for the homeless, addicted, and marginalized members located in the Durham Region.

We are located at 253 Simcoe Street South in Oshawa, Ontario where we operate a before and after-hours Drop-in Centre available to all those in need.

Current Hours of Operation:

Monday – Friday: 6:00 am – 8:00 am – Providing Hot Sandwich, Breakfast Bag & Beverages                

At the First Light Outreach Centre, we provide the following:

• Support for the homeless
• Resources for those struggling with addictions
• Practical help to those of lesser means within our community
• Basic nutritional staples, clothing, socks and blankets
• Warmth during the coldest hours of the day throughout the winter months and a cool refreshing environment during hot summer days.

Our outreach center also offers access to counseling and a support network in a safe, loving environment where we can further provide hope and help.

Our Outreach is unique, providing help and basic support during the early hours of the morning when few other resources in the community are readily available.

We work in cooperation with other community outreach providers and centers providing referrals to other agencies and services when necessary.
